Nigel was bred and raised by Nancy McDonald, Barksdale Collies. Shortly after he finished his Championship in 2004, he came to live with me. Nigel is my first conformation dog and “taught” me how to “show” a dog.
He has multiple Best of Variety and Best of Breed wins as well as Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Variety and Award of Merits. He continues to compete in Virginia, North Carolina, and at the National Collie Show. In 2008, I showed Nigel at Westminster as owner/handler…. This was his first time at Westminster as well as mine. He performed flawlessly despite his handler’s nerves.
Nigel was shown by his co-owner and junior handler at Westminster in 2009 and received the first Award of Merit. Nigel is continuing his show career on a reduced schedule and will begin competing in a different venue, obedience.
